Coverage A - Dwelling Coverage
Your dwelling coverage provides for the replacement of your home. It is important to remember that the amount of money indicated in Coverage A (also known as limits) has nothing to do with the market value of your home. Rather, your Coverage A limit should reflect how much it would cost to rebuild your home in the event it is destroyed. Also note that in addition to the replacing your home, Coverage A's limit should also include the cost of removing debris from your damaged home.
Important Note: A recent study by Marshall and Swift/Boeckh found that 2/3 of all homes had insufficient limits under Coverage A.
Shouldn't you make sure you have enough insurance for your biggest investment?
